Industries · Appliance stores
An appliance store lives on a small number of expensive sales, each one usually involving a delivery, often an installation, and sometimes, months later, a warranty claim. The margin on any single unit is real money, and so is the cost of a refrigerator nobody's bought. Easy Books was built to keep that kind of business tight.

Request the manualWith appliances, one unit too many is several hundred dollars sitting on the floor, and one too few is a customer who walks to a competitor. Better turns and fewer stock-outs are where the profit is.
The PO Wizard works through every model you stock and weighs what's on hand, what's already on order, what customers are waiting for, your minimum and maximum levels and the standard pack. Then it writes the orders, in a few seconds. Run it every day if you like; it counts what it has already ordered and will never over-order. It's the part of Easy Books we're proudest of, and we don't believe any other small-business package does it.
Appliance sales rarely end at the counter. Delivery, installation and removal of the old unit go on the same sales order as their own lines — service items with F2, freight with F3 — so the customer gets one invoice and you keep a clean view of what you made on the appliance itself.
When a unit fails under warranty and goes back to the manufacturer, it's easy for the credit to be forgotten. Easy Books has a dedicated Vendor Returns window. It prints a return form for the driver to sign, moves the value into a pending account, and holds it there until the manufacturer's credit memo arrives and is matched against it. At any moment you can see exactly what you're still owed.
Every sales order line shows the real quantity on hand at that moment, so the salesperson knows before promising a delivery date. If you're short, Easy Books raises the back order itself — and the PO Wizard picks it up next time it runs.
Appliance customers shop around and ask for a better price. Profit Plus shows the margin on each line and on the whole order as you write it, and moves as you adjust. You'll know exactly how much room you have before you agree to anything.
If a customer leaves a deposit on a range that's being ordered in, take it on the sales order itself. Several deposits against one order are fine, with no journal entries.
Easy Books doesn't track serial numbers on individual units. If you need to record the serial number of every appliance you sell, you'll need to keep that record alongside Easy Books, and we'd rather you knew that now.
