Industries · Plumbing supply
A plumbing supply business is the opposite of a furniture store. Not a few expensive items but thousands of inexpensive ones — fittings, valves, pipe, fixtures — moving fast, sold across a counter to contractors who want them now and pay at the end of the month. Easy Books was built for that volume.

Counts that keep the books honest
Request the manualNo one can keep a thousand SKUs in their head. Some move every day, some once a quarter, and running out of a two-dollar fitting can lose you a contractor's whole order.
The PO Wizard handles the lot. For every stock item it weighs what's on the shelf, what's already on order, what's waiting on open customer orders, your minimum and maximum levels and the standard pack — so you order a box of 25, not 17 loose fittings. Then it writes the purchase orders, vendor by vendor, in a few seconds. Run it every morning; it knows what it has already ordered and will never over-order. No person could weigh all of that across a full catalog in an afternoon, let alone a few seconds.
At a busy counter, the part number is half the battle. Type the full number if the contractor has it, part of a number if they don't, or press F4 and type a word from the description — VALVE, ELBOW — and pick from the list. The on-hand quantity shows on every line as you go, so you never sell what isn't there. The counter computer runs the Sales Module, so it can raise invoices all day without access to payroll or the books.
Most of your sales are to contractors on terms. Payments are posted by clicking the invoices a check covers; short-pays and overpayments are handled in the same screen without journal entries. At month end, print or email statements to every customer with a balance in one operation, and the receivables aging report shows who needs a phone call.
With thousands of small items, shrinkage and miscounts are a fact of life. Print a tally sheet for one vendor's line or for everything, count, and enter the new figures. Easy Books adjusts inventory and posts the difference to inventory variance in cost of goods sold, with a full audit trail.
Plumbing suppliers revise their price lists often. Re-price a Product Line, in the Utilities menu, lets you pick a vendor and the margin you want, and reprices every item from that vendor in one step.
